Ethics in Action: Bridging Traditional Values and Ethical Demands in an Evolving Landscape of Behavioral Health

CE Hours 4

About this live event

As the field of behavioral health continues to evolve, practitioners are increasingly faced with complex ethical dilemmas that challenge long-standing professional values. This CEU workshop is designed for counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists who are seeking to strengthen their ethical decision-making in today’s rapidly changing environment. Through an integrated lens of traditional ethics and modern demands, participants will examine foundational ethical principles alongside emerging issues related to technology, digital communication, and artificial intelligence (AI). The session will also explore informed consent as a dynamic, ongoing process, highlighting the importance of transparency, accountability, and client empowerment. Attendees will leave this educational workshop with practical tools and ethical frameworks needed to navigate contemporary challenges while honoring the core values of their profession.

  • Examine the ethical implications of emerging technologies and digital tools on boundaries, confidentiality, and professional roles.
  • Identify challenges and ethical concerns related to digital communication, social media, and artificial intelligence in clinical settings.
  • Analyze the impact of virtual service delivery on privacy, data security, and professional conduct.
